Title: Inquiry
Author: Elly
Character: Frodo, Merry, Pippin
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Um. You said kinky, right? Cause, well. These characters belong to Tolkien and I'm sure I've made his good ghost cry. Yeah. This is very silly and I have no excuse.

"Frodo, tell us. Were Bilbo and Gandalf…" Merry trailed off, searching for the right words. "That is, were they…."

"Friends." Pippin interjected, confusing Frodo.

"Of course! Why would you ask such a thing?"

Merry sighed and Pippin tried again. "No, Frodo. Were they Old Friends?" He emphasized his last two words with wide eyes and a wicked grin.

"I don't see what you could possibly mean by… Oh. Oh!"

Pippin laughed as Frodo struggled with mental images that he never imagined he'd stumble across.

"No! Pippin! Why would you suggest something like that?" Frodo said once he'd recovered. "What gave you such an idea?"

Merry and Pippin exchanged glances, grin matching grin.

Frodo sighed.

"Not everyone approaches life the same way you two do."

"I suppose that's true, Frodo. But I am curious about another thing."

" Ask, then, Pippin. It couldn't possibly be more disturbing."

"You and Sam. Are you two, um, Old Friends?"

Frodo stared blankly at them before responding calmly, "Of course not. He's a servant and I'm his master." He got up and walked inside, leaving his cousins in a shocked silence.

"D'you suppose he meant…"

Merry groaned. "Save it, Pip. I don't want to know."
