Silverandgold. That was her hair. And her eyes and everything about her, really. You could hardly see her for the shimmer around her. And at first, Sam was blinded. She was an elf. He thought her to be a world away, something untouchable. But he looks back now, in the moments they stop to rest near Mordor. And he thinks that maybe time took the shimmer away. And that maybe, now, he could understand the grief and strength mingled in her eyes. Then they begin to move again. And Sam forgets everything but the heat of Mordor and the ring.
